Key Considerations

The time from the first initial thoughts to the day the contract is signed is a process. For some, it’s a longer journey; for others, a shorter one. No matter where you are in the process, we are always ready to offer advice and guidance.

Buying a property should be a well-considered and thoroughly thought-out decision. That’s why it’s important that you, as a potential buyer, reflect on the right questions.

Consider questions such as:

  • Type: Should it be an apartment, penthouse, or villa?
This is usually a question of investment size. As a general rule, villas are located a bit more remotely, often in the mountains, compared to apartments or penthouses. In return, you’ll often get a more peaceful location. With an apartment or penthouse, you typically get access to great facilities and more square meters for your money.
  • Rooms: How many bedrooms are needed?
The vast majority of homes are built as so-called 2+1 units – meaning two bedrooms and a combined living room/kitchen. This is by far the most popular type among buyers. However, there are also properties with one bedroom (1+1) or three bedrooms (3+1).
If you need more than three bedrooms, a penthouse should be considered. A penthouse is the top-floor unit in a two-story complex, with the upper level located under the roof. This often provides a fantastic view and access to a rooftop terrace.
  • Location: Should it be in the city, close to the beach, or in a quieter area?
The most popular choice is a combination of the above – typically a location just outside the city center in the suburbs of Alanya. This way, you get a peaceful environment with easy access and transportation to both the beach and the city center.
  • Price and financing: What is your financial limit, and how will the property be financed?
It is possible to finance your Turkish holiday home through local Turkish banks. Additionally, several Danish banks are also willing to finance a property in Turkey.
However, this topic is quite extensive, and interest rates as well as financing options change frequently. Therefore, we recommend contacting us for more information.
  • Rental: Do you plan to rent out the property?
If you plan to rent out the property, the location becomes especially important. A general rule of thumb is: the closer to the city center, the easier it is to rent out.
  • Facilities: What facilities are important to you?
Most complexes have a swimming pool. In addition, you may find football fields, basketball courts, table tennis, gyms, indoor pools, water slides, security service, pool bars, caretakers, internet, and much more.
Consider which facilities are essential and which would be nice to have – but not necessarily a must.
