2Base upgrades office with new pavement

Improvements are happening all the time in Alanya. Lately the local municipality has started to build pavements at the side streets in the city center.
This has now reached Akmanlar Sokak where our office is located.

Loans got even cheaper

Last couple of years it has become more and more popular to finance your Turkish holiday home via a loan in a local Turkish bank.
This has just become even more attractive since the banks have decided to lower several of the service fees significantly.

New map feature - find nearest...

We are currently implementing a new map feature on both 2base.com and my2base.com.
The map will give you an easy overview of what to find in your surroundings as well as nearest supermarked, taxistand, bus stop or pharmacy.

For you who are considering either buying or letting an apartment, the map will be a valuable assistant in the hunt for the exact right apartment.

2Base goes even more local

Today there are still being sold a lot of off-plan units from the constructing companies, but in the same time the number of resale apartments being sold have increased significantly.

As one of very few estate agents 2Base saw this trend and developed a system for 1) including these apartments in our portfolion and 2) of course to get them sold.
This we want to do even better, and we have just hired a new staff who will just take care of the local market and local estate agents.

The size of a Turkish square meter

This time we will look into something that should seem quite simple - which is the size of a square meter.

Let us first take a look at what Wikipedia has to say related to the subject:
The square metre (British spelling) or square meter (American spelling) is an unit of area... It is defined as the area of a square whose sides measure exactly one metre.

For those who are particularly interested in the subject it is worth noticing that 1m2 equals 0.000001 km2 (square kilometers) or 10.000 cm2 (square centimeters).

A question to which Wikipedia does not answer is what the size of a Turkish square meter is. Because one thing that experience has taught us, is that one (1) European m2 and one (1) Turkish square meter are not equal. This is most obvious when we receive the floor plans for the units we promote. These are often quite exaggerated and often we see 2-bedroom apartments of 150m2. But visiting the apartment in question often reveals another story.
Or to put it another way: The 150m2 apartment turns out to be just 100m2.

Questions related to yearly fees

As an apartment owner in Turkey - and most other places too - you each year have to pay the yearly fees to related to the owners association.
These payments will then cover expenses for keeping common areas clean and tidy, usage of common electricity, maintenance of the pool, elevator checkups and so on.
How much to pay is decided each year at the annual general meeting (AGM).

This often leads to the following questions:
1) Can the AGM decide what ever amount they choose?
2) When must the decided fees be paid?

Get on the bus

At time it can be hard finding your way around the network of local busses in Alanya. Especially since each municipality has its own busses, and they all service not only their own municipality, but also other areas. So the city buses from Mahmutlar are servicing the Alanya area and the busses from Tosmur also goes to Kestel and so on... Spacestation passing right above our heads
