Bodrum Yalikavak

The town of Yalikavak is a very popular alternative to Bodrum town. Like most other towns on the Bodrum peninsula it used to be a small fishing port. The atmosphere has remained quiet and relaxed. There is still a thriving fishing industry but now also supported by a growing tourism sector. In the harbour area you find the best restaurants and bars but a short distance from the centre the local restaurants serve real Turkish lunch such as kebab, pide and sulu yemek. Every week on Thursdays the town hosts a big market with fresh fruit, vegetables and clothes. Go to the beach and take a relaxing break or a swim in the bay. There are good connections with public dolmus buses to the neighbouring towns or to the larger shopping places in Bodrum.
