Rhodes is the largest Dodecanese Island. It lies between Crete and the near east in the Aegean Sea and is very popular with international and Greek tourists. The reason for this is the islands natural surroundings, bright sun and the friendly hospitality of the locals.
It has taken the name of Sun Island or Island of Light due to the fact of it not having many days when the sun doesn’t shine.
Rhodes Town the capital of the island lies outside and within the walls of a very well looked after Venetian castle built by the knights of Saint John with its labyrinth of narrow streets and cobbled alleys which now house many tourists shops to browse around.
While visiting Rhodes the time is yours to do what you want, visit the many museum’s, take a taxi to one of the numerous beaches with plenty of activities or visit Lindos were many interesting archaeological sites lay before the journey back to Bodrum is upon you.
