Imza / Signature


When doing any kind of business transactions in Turkey you at some point need to sign. In Turkish that is called "imza". And don't be surprised if several signatures are required. Notaries office, banks and other institutions all love signatures and often several are required for even simple transactions.
Although also Turkey is moving towards a more digital platforms it is still the personal signature made with a real pen that is the favorite. In Turkish that is called "ıslak imza" which translates to "wet signature".
Tip: Always use the same type of signature in Turkey. Sometimes your previous signatures are compared to your current, and it can cause a great deal of trouble in case they are not similar.
